Progress Report
As henna season sets in, I find myself reorganizing. I redid my folders this week after buying the IndoArab book from Henna Lounge. I really wanted to toss a lot of McMehndi crap and try to add some more traditional designs. The $10 folder is down by three pages and the $20 folder is half full of designs no one ever picks. The $5 folder has more than enough.

I also bought new totes. I'd been lugging around this way too big bag every weekend to CW. Instead, now I have a 19" pilot's case (roller, hard sided, smallest luggage) for festivals and a roller tote for CW and private events. The roller tote means I have to ditch my cute caboodle I bought at TJ Maxx with nyx_hemsut and the neat brochure/business card holder from World Market, but I can live with that if life is a little simpler on a regular basis. I can think of ways to make it even simpler, too. Like condensing my folders down to one and using a color dot system and then having three folders with the same stuff in them to hand around.

Top of the Park responded to my email and said they'd like to have me do henna on June 27th for the Bohemian Street Fair night. I'll be in a tent with some bellydancers, apparently. And there's supposed to be a band from France called Les Yeux Noirs (gypsy-klezmer), but all I can find on the schedule is Joe Summer's Gypsy Jazz. Yay, two evenings of Gypsy Jazz in one month! The movie that night is Moulin Rouge.

Tuesday I dropped cards and brochures off at Lucky Monkey, a tattoo parlour in downtown A2. Liz from CW says they've been admiring my henna on her, so I went in and introduced myself. Apparently, they get requests for henna on a weekly basis. I also introduced myself at a new tattoo place down the street, but one of the ladies there already does henna.

shwankie and I also discussed weekdays in Howell. I told her Tuesdays and Fridays were open. On Wednesdays we don't see Rick (counselor), I could probably overlap with her so she can do mostly readings. Hopefully, we'll get this information pinned down and I can update my brochures accordingly.
